Chop your own wood and it will warm you twice- Work Satisfaction

woman-570883_640 Now-a-days true work satisfaction of job and happiness is all about fulfilling your aim, indulging into your own creativity and feel that you can make some difference. Happiness is not something which comes from performing an easy task, but it comes from the afterglow of satisfaction that you will receive after achieving your aim through a difficult task that demanded your best. It’s true to note that getting pleasure in your own work will automatically pour perfection into it. Being satisfied with your work plays a crucial part because your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is a great work. The only way to get a work satisfaction is by loving what you do. As a writer, let me describe myself as an example to you. I completed my bachelors in STEM field just two months back. Since, I have always been fascinated with writing, editing, and cinematography, I knew that once I finish off with my degree, I needed to get a job in a field which I love, so as per my plans I took the opportunity as a writer. The pleasure which I get after compiling a good write up is something which is way beyond explanation. Recently my friend asked me, “you are always so engrossed in your work, you sleep less and continue with either reading or writing something or the other all day! Don’t you feel exhausted? The work you are doing, is it giving you any personal and emotional satisfaction?” I laughed and replied “Yes, it does! Even if I sleep less, I get the most peaceful sleep considering the work I have finished in a particular day was hard, but I nailed it and I enjoyed every second of performing that task.” It brings me satisfaction when I write peacefully sitting in my cubicle, when my boss tells me that I have done a great job over my piece, when my boss listens to my ideas and helps me enhance it or when she asks me to write on some challenging concept and I finish it perfectly before the due time period. I always get personal satisfaction from every article I write and research on, because if I didn’t, I would have opted for my original career long back. Emotional satisfaction from the work you do is very important. The warmth and the enthusiasm that you will feel after you begin your own endeavor and again the gratification that you will feel seeing your work touch so many people around including yourself will leave a positive impact. I feel that nothing can ever beat or surpass the warmth and happiness in gaining the contentment from a good job. There are jobs which can take almost 90-100 hours time per week. If you spend that time for things you are passionate about rather than working just for money, the results will be far more different, bigger and better. Let’s talk about the key factors affecting work satisfaction

  1. Easily pleased

There are people who get more easily satisfied than the others; it doesn’t matter if the job is good or bad for them. Keep it in mind that you can’t please everyone all the time. There are good as well as bad days you need to face while you are working, let that not influence you with any different thoughts on work satisfaction. Whether you satisfy everyone all the time or not, but if you consider that have done a good job, be satisfied and feel happy. That doesn’t mean you should stop considering the ways to improve and please the opposite client but still.

  1. Support from the organization

Employees always want to know their organization cherishes them and cares for them. They must feel that they are getting back rewards for the effort they are putting in. If employees are regarded with more support from the organization, they will gain higher satisfaction from their job.

  1. Gaining response

There can be nothing else pathetic than not knowing whether you are doing a good job or not. When we talk about work satisfaction, no feedback is a bad one; you always will learn a lesson or two from it. Either positive or negative, always take the feedbacks in a cheerful manner so that you can grow and evolve in your task.

  1. Gaining Achievement

Employees feel satisfied with their work if they have achieved their goal. Sometimes achievements are apparent and sometimes they are not, but you should keep your hard work until you feel that you have accomplished your task with your best efforts. On a final note, I would like to advise, every morning you must wake up with determination and go back to bed at night with satisfaction.
