A good healthcare initiative is always cause for celebration, and Renault Group’s global wellness policy gives us a good reason to do just that. Just last week, Renault announced its latest employee well-being initiative, asserting that it would now be expanded to all its employees worldwide. OneHealth, the consolidated programme representing Renault Group HR health initiative, takes not just physical health into consideration, but also includes 24/7 psychological support for its employees.
A comprehensive support system is the best way to establish a healthcare plan that intuitively addresses the needs of workers, showcasing the business’ commitment to the people who make its success possible. The healthcare initiative “contributes to strengthening diversity and inclusion within the Renault Group, by offering support tailored to the needs of everyone,” according to Bruno Laforge, Chief People and Organisation Officer at Renault Group, which is an admirable goal in 2025.

Renault Group’s Global Wellness Policy Sets the Standard for Employee Care
Employees are the backbone of any organization, no matter what role they play. Their contributions make the business run smoothly, but when they operate at a disadvantage, their work is affected as well. Supporting employee well-being can be one of the most critical investments an organization makes in its workforce, which is why Renault Group’s global wellness policy is a step in the right direction.
The program was initially launched in France, Spain, Brazil, and Morocco in April last year, but is now extending to other areas of its operations. Renault’s updated health and support program for 2025 is currently available to 95% of its workforce, and will cover all its employees by September this year. The universal nature of its policy is one of the biggest highlights of the OneHealth program, however, the health coverage offered by the program is equally impressive.
“OneHealth is much more than a health program, it is a real support for the well-being of everyone, on a daily basis,” the company explained in its update. There are three areas of interest targeted by the OneHealth program: tools for an active and healthy lifestyle, regular health checks to support early detection, and support for quality health coverage.
An App to Help Employees Support Themselves
Renault’s employee health care initiative brings the Personify Health app to workers to encourage them to work on their well-being together with their colleagues. An active lifestyle is a great way to stay healthy, and through the app, employees can participate in individual and group challenges that motivate them to improve their well-being.
Regular Health Checkups to Help Detect Risks Early On
The Renault employee health plan for 2025 includes access to physical and digital health check-ups for employees. Most individuals wait to go to the doctor only when they fall seriously ill and cannot function any longer, by which time, great damage is dealt to their health. Regular health checkups are a great way to detect and address health concerns before they evolve into something more serious.
The digital health check-ups are the primary offering for OneHealth members, and any causes for concern could lead to physical health checks depending on their state of health and if they are above 45.
Supportive Health Coverage
Renault Group’s global wellness policy also includes a 24/7 support hotline for mental health concerns that affect employees. The company also offers healthcare cover, particularly for certain conditions such as cardiovascular disease and cancer. The company reportedly has a network of 148 health centers spread across 12 countries to ensure its employees have local access to healthcare experts who can guide them through their conditions.
Carmaker Renault’s universal healthcare program aims to “provide all employees with health cover that is at least equal to or better than the standards in force in each country: a package of services that enables every employee to feel fully supported, both professionally and personally.” This is an admirable goal and should greatly benefit workers if enacted effectively.
The Global Health Initiative at Renault Group Commits to Employee Well-Being
From everything that has been revealed about Renault Group’s global wellness policy, it is clear that the organization is taking its employees’ health seriously. The media release also explains that Renault aims to have “zero accidents and occupational diseases by 2030,” which is a challenging goal but an impressive one nonetheless.
Workplace safety is just as crucial to the smooth functioning of an organization as the health of the workforce, so it is heartening to see Renault focus on this metric as well. Employees across the globe are finding themselves spending a majority of their time on the job, leaving them with very little time to care for themselves and their physical and mental needs. Employer-supported wellness programs can go a long way in guaranteeing employee well-being, and more firms need to expand on similar benefits for their workers.
Recent reports on Hyundai’s wellness center in Alabama show that Renault isn’t the only automaker that’s working on caring for its workers more comprehensively. This renewed focus on employee well-being is something we support and encourage, and the hope remains that more industries and organizations will turn to a holistic approach to the wellness of their workers.
