Santa Claus Joins LinkedIn, But Does Not Bring Christmas Presents Along

If you’re on LinkedIn, you can brag about being connected with Santa Claus. But hold your reindeers because there’s not one Santa, rather too many of them, and they live anywhere but the North Pole. The Santas Claus on LinkedIn advertise their skills, the most illustrious of which includes distributing gifts, acting, and generally bringing life to the party. Some of these Santas are just professional actors, looking for an extra job around the holidays. There’s even one, who moonlights as a sales and marketing consultants.

Almost all Santas Claus on LinkedIn have put up a profile picture of themselves wearing the red hat and a jacket/voluminous shirt with suspenders. Perhaps, the best part about this whole business is the ‘People also viewed’ column on the right. It’s brimming with other Santas on LinkedIn, who’re also looking for work during the holidays.

But wait, here comes the most bizarre past: real-bearded Santas are bragging about their membership in the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas. While some, list diplomas from the few Santas schools around the U.S.

Santas on LinkedIn are also letting you know if they work only around the holidays, or are in for the job 24*7, all days of the year. Some of these Santas are also listing their Christmas knowledge and expertise. While some are keeping it holiday-ier with words like ‘expert cookie taster’.

A lot of these Santas on LinkedIn earn an hourly wage of $35 to $45, depending on the location. On the other hand, the elite group, which works with five-star hotels, or do appearances on shows like “The Today Show” earn around $75 to $300 per hour.

Currently, LinkedIn boasts of more than 100 open Santa Claus positions around the U.S. As we near Christmas, this number will only increase. Santas Claus on LinkedIn aren’t really looking for find just work. Some are even using the professional networking site to connect with other Santas.
