It is true that life at SAP is balanced and fair. After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback on the experience of remote working during the Covid-19 pandemic, the software giant resolved to make things more balanced. The group is adopting flexible working for its 100,000 employees around the globe.
Germany-based SAP said internal polling found that 94% of workers wanted to take advantage of the joys of working flexibility, while nearly half planned to work in the office for one or two days a week in the future.
“It gives employees 100% flexibility,” Julia White, SAP’s recently appointed chief marketing and solutions officer, said in an interview.

In an email sent to employees, SAP said it was adopting a “flexible and trust-based workplace as the norm, not the exception.”
SAP employees will be able to work remotely or at the office, and it will be possible for them to set flexible schedules. The group plans to redesign its office spaces to welcome teamwork and collaboration.
The group’s decision to adopt flexible working comes after several companies, including PwC, EY, Google, and Facebook, to permanently adopt work from home even after the lockdown orders ease. EY is the third of the UK’s Big Four accountants to embrace hybrid working after the pandemic. Professional services firm PwC told its 22,000 staff in March that they would spend an average of two to three days a week in the office after the pandemic ended. KPMG’s 16,000 staff will spend six days of every fortnight working from home.
